Yeah...same to you...
Sep. 22nd, 2010 09:29 am....I guess it's time for something of an update. For one, I've finally found out what's been going on in my sinuses, and I must say, I've been pretty lucky. It's a staph infection.
Just to give you an idea of what this stuff can do: It's known for causing Toxic Shock Syndrome, Scalded-Shin Syndrome, and in children it can cause nercotizing pneumonia.
I've not dealt with anything like the above (though it probably explains the odd, dry, /red/ splotches I've got here and there), but it can be some serious stuff. Thing is, this strain of staph is most known for being picked up from hospitals. So I can't help but wonder; did I already have it from somewhere and the sinus surgery over a year ago kept it from turning into anything more serious, or did I pick it up because of the surgery? I don't know.
Anyway, now that we know what it is we can try to treat it. Problem is, this strain of staph is highly resistant to antibiotics...which is why I'm on a really strong antibiotic for twice as long as it's normally taken. And I think it's making my body freak out. I can't think, I HURT, and I have no motivation to do anything. I've gone on hiatus from Wake right now because I just can't contemplate replying to anything IC'ly.
I'm pretty sure it's the antibiotic causing me to feel so bad, but I can't tell if it's a "my body doesn't like these meds" feel bad or a "meds are attacking the nasty in my face" feel bad. Y~Y I just know I feel like crap and can't really afford to take too much time off work because I need it to be able to go to Texas in December if we (my parents and I) decide we can afford to go to my sister's for/around Christmas.
*sighs* And I think that's about all I can brain right now. Back to attempting to open week old mail (I'm just glad they're not asking me to help out in the file room today).
